Rating- 7/10

I was given the chance to be a part of one of the biggest book tours ever and did not want to miss out on all the fun! How exciting for book bloggers to be able to finally reclaim our power and influence on new authors in such a fun and awesome way. It’s so great to be a part of a community that works so well as a team that organised such an incredible book tour as this. I’m also a fan of indie authors and every now and then I’ll read a book by a new up and coming authors, because I truly feel that you can miss out on some pretty amazing books out there if you limit your reading choices to just best sellers! Amirite? Anywho, lets get on to this amazing blog tour and the author and book of this review.

After the Green Withered is the debut novel by Kristin Ward. It is a dystopian fiction story that follows a teenage girl called Enora. They live in this trippy aftermath world where there is no longer any water and her world is in a desperate state of rations for survival. The land is very dry, and water has become the global currency. You can imagine what it would be like to live in such desperate times.

I read the first chapter of After the Green Withered and I was immediately drawn in! I’m totally tempted to read the entire book now, it’s very easy to read, quite fast paced and a gripping story that actually doesn’t sound as far fetched given our current global warming crisis. It definitely hits home, that’s for sure. I can’t say much for the ending and how the book progresses but I do have to say that I liked what I read and would be very much into reading this YA book. A lot of teenagers would probably be able to relate to it. I liked the desperation and tone of the book and it painted a very clear picture in my head of what Enora’s world looked and felt like. It sort of reminded me of the book Divergent, so if your a fan of the book or even the show, I’m sure you would love this book. It’s gripping and kinda scary because I could legit see this happening in the future, hopefully when I’m no longer around! It’s great for Kristin Ward to bring attention to a subject matter that people don’t usually like to discuss.

A great dystopian read for all ages! Check out the links below for more info on After the Green Withered.
